Galatians 5:22-26

I. Gentleness, mildness, and meekness have gotten a bad reputation.

A. The world tries to show Jesus and Christianity as weak.

B. The Bible defines gentleness and meekness differently.

II. Jesus is our example of gentleness. Matt. 11:28-30, 21:5

A. He dealt with the religious leaders. Matt. 23:12-35

B. He dealt with the children and sinners. Mark 10:13-16, John 8:1-11

III. God has commanded us to be gentle. Eph. 4:1-3

A. We need wisdom to be gentle biblically. James 3:13-18

B. Gentleness should be a part of gospel living. Gal. 6:1, Titus 3:1-8

Have I taken Jesus’ yoke upon me or am I still weary and carrying a heavy load of my own works?
